Last night, the tragic news of Irrfan Khan’s mother Saeeda Begum’s demise had hit the internet. A 95-year-old Saeeda Begum was keeping unwell for a long time and passed away due to natural causes, as per ANI. Saeeda resided in Jaipur’s Beniwal Kanta Krishna Colony, while her son Irrfan Khan is staying abroad. Unfortunately, due to the given circumstances of the Coronavirus outbreak across the world, Irrfan won’t be able to join his family in Jaipur anytime soon. However, as per a report in DNA, the Piku actor was indeed a part of his late mother’s funeral in Jaipur.

The report states how Irrfan paid last respects to his mother via video conferencing, as he couldn’t be there physically. Saeeda Begum, who belonged to the Nawabi family of Tonk, is survived by her three sons, Irrfan Khan, Salman and Imran. Confirming the news of her demise, Salman, in an interview with The Indian Express revealed, "My mother had been ill for some time. But suddenly her health deteriorated on Saturday morning. Recently, mother had inquired about Irrfan bhai's health."

In an exclusive conversation with SpotboyE, Irrfan’s good friend and filmmaker Shoojit Sircar reacted to the news by saying, “It's very sad. I have yet to talk to him, though. I will be calling him."
